Both send power to all four wheels, but they work differently-and you may not need either unless weather and terrain demand it.

## How They Differ

**AWD** automatically detects wheel slip and routes power where traction is needed, then shifts seamlessly based on road conditions. You don't think about it-it's always on and helps prevent skids.

**4WD** lets you manually switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive via a button or lever. You *choose* when to engage it, which matters off-road but adds weight and costs fuel on pavement.

## When You Need Each

Choose **AWD** for snowy/icy commutes, rain, and regular unpaved roads. It's transparent and improves safety everywhere. Pick **4WD** if you regularly tow heavy loads, go off-road, or drive in extreme snow with a truck.

## The Tradeoff

Both reduce fuel economy slightly. AWD's penalty is smaller because it's lighter and only engages when needed.

## Find Your Match

Consider your winters, terrain, and towing plans. Castle Chevrolet stocks both. **Call (630) 279-5200** to talk through which drivetrain fits your life.
